How You Can Save the Wolf Cub in Children of Morta

Maverick earned all achievements in Children of Morta. He was also a bit confused about the steps required to save the Wolf Cub.

Saving the Wolf Cub in Children of Morta

Rhyker The Wolf Cub

To save Rhyker the Wolf Cub in Children of Morta, you need to find 3 ingredients. But you likely already know that and just want to know where they are. The answer is that they can spawn anywhere in the Caeldippo Caves. Even in parts you already visited.

The good news is that this means there is no point of no return. You can’t miss out on those ingredients by proceeding with the main story. The bad news is that it may take you quite a while before you find them.

There is no real sure-way to guarantee finding these items. Just make sure to explore each area thoroughly, as the ingredients spawn in side areas. You can keep rerunning the Silk Caves, even if you encountered the Wolf Cub in one of the later Cave Areas. You can even skip enemies (though extra levels will help for later areas).

Each new run you do will slightly increase your chances for the next run. That is because the Caeldippo Caves also spawn other events that can only occur once. The more of these you encounter, the smaller the list of side areas that can spawn. When the system then decides to spawn a side area, the odds of it picking the one to progress the quest increases.

Children of Morta’s Quest System

Children of Morta Quest Log

Children of Morta’s quest system is a little ambiguous. I was confused at first, too, as the quest log makes it sound like those ingredients spawn in specific locations. But this is not the case. You only need to check the general location in the quest log, in this case Caeldippo Caves. When the quest log lists a location, it means the item you are looking for can spawn anywhere in that location.

Once you get used to the system, further quests will be less confusing. That is why there is only a dedicated article about the Wolf Cub on answersforgamers.com. It’s the first quest players are likely to encounter, while they are not yet used to the system.

But there are in fact quite a few quests that follow the same system. In fact, after you do find the required ingredients, you’ll have a follow-up quest you will need to complete. Only after that follow-up quest will you earn the A New Member achievement.
