Introduction

Which character’s ending you get depends on which character you have maximum affinity with. You also need to have gone through all available scenes with that character. If you have met these conditions for multiple characters, the ending of the character placed first in the party will trigger.

The endings are written out in text form, as this is what we specialize in. A video version made by ProteinShakeGaming is available near the bottom of the page if you prefer. Feel free to use the Table of Contents to skip to this video or the ending of any specific character.

Mary Skelter Nightmare Character Endings Structure

The general structure of the Mary Skelter Nightmare Character Endings is always the same. It consists of these steps:

• In the events following the final boss battle, the character whose ending you triggered loses her balance
• Jack uses his Mary Reverser in a reckless maneuver to save her
• The character questions why Jack would go so far to save her
• Jack and the character talk about the importance of their bond to each other
• The other characters make their way to Jack and the girl whose ending you triggered
• Jack and the girl express their want to stay close even after the end of the Jail’s story
• The non-character specific ending proceeds (this content is not on this page to prevent non-character spoilers)

How is it determined which character ending you get?

If you have maximum affinity with multiple characters, it will give you the ending of the character you put on top of your active party. This allows you to potentially get all character endings in all playthrough, though reloading from the last possible save still takes quite a while.

What happens if you don’t have maximum affinity with any character?

The game will just proceed with the general ending (which also plays in addition to the character-specific ending under normal circumstances).

What happens if you don’t pick the Mary Reverser to save the girl of your character ending?

The character of your ending is saved but Jack dies. No, I’m not joking. This is the transcript after choosing another weapon/skill:

Jack: (This should do it!)
Jack: (It’s no use…! It’s not working!)
Jack: (If I can at least save [character whose ending triggered]…!)
Jack: …

After this there is a very short reaction of the character in question. I did not get all of them, but here is an example for Alice:

Alice: Jack… Why…?
Alice: You promised… You promised we’d make it out of here alive!
Alice: Jack…

I have maximum affinity with a character but her ending still doesn’t trigger?

You also need to go through all events for that character, including a special picture for said character in one of the events. To know which characters you are missing after completing the game, you can go to the main menu, then Bonus, then Gallery. Each image you’re looking for is to the right of “Grand Finale 2” and to the left of “Blue Bird”.

Here are the fixes for the most commonly mixed characters.

Hameln

You need to unlock her by first finding all parts of the Mary Gun:

Remake:

Downtown: Area 4, X:24, Y:14
Dorm: Area 2, X:16, Y:07
Waterside: Area 4, X: 23 Y:06

Original:

Downtown: Area 4, X:06 Y:38
Dorms: Area 2, X:31 Y:07
Train Station: Area 1, X:14 Y:33

Then you need to fight her after using the Mary Reverser to jump over a previously inaccessible ravine in the City Streets.

Lastly, you need to trigger all her events at certain affinity thresholds. Apart from regularly checking back in the Dawn base, she has events at:

• (remake) Station Grounds: Area 3, X: 01, Y: 02 (original) Station Grounds: Area 3, X: 23, Y: 03
• (remake) Tower Base: Area 3, X:04, Y: 11 (original) Tower Base: Area 3, X: 21, Y: 18

Not right now. At Answersforgamers we only cover games we finished ourselves and this is not the case for these sequels. I did enjoy Mary Skelter: Nightmares but I played the original version (not the remake) and it had excessively long dungeons, so I’m a bit burned out on the series. I may play the sequels later, at which point I’ll also cover the character endings of those games.
